Why?
The germinal matrix is where new nail cells are produced. These are new ‘green shoots’, to be readily infected as a fungal dermaphytes food source. Is This Painful?

What Happens After Nails Are Removed?
Nails are designed in nature if damaged and come off, to grow back quickly. Nail beds quickly heal up in 5 – 7 days dependent on good post operative dressing care . Case Study
Patient CJ presented with 9 chronically fungal infected nails. They were treatment resistant. Nothing worked and patient had suffered with them for many years. He was advised after exploring all other treatment options to have all 9 occluded nails removed, followed by a course of 4 lunula laser treatments.
