MF has a protracted history of difficult to treat fungal nails, so the decision was made to remove them and accelerate new healthy nail growth wih the Lunula cold laser. The Lunula is FDA cleared to promote accelerated nail growth and clear onychomycosis. nails generally grow 1 mm per month, but the Lunula can increase this to 2-3mm. We note really fast regrowth after surgery. We space the 4 required Lunula sessions at weekly intervals. Care still must be taken to eradicate spores in footwear and avoid getting an Athlete’s foot infection. Ths approach has high efficacy for total fungal nail resolution so MF should have nice pink nails by the Autumn/Winter.
Note how clean and dry the nail bed is after surgery. Nails are actually designed to come off after trauma and heal quickly.
